1-29 oz. Can of Tomato Puree
2-3 tbsp. Sugar
1-2 tbsp. salt
2 cups Bone Broth
2 tbsp. Fat
Direction:
When making this sauce use bacon fat or any animal fat you saved from previous cooking or baking, or brown your meat for the pizza first like pork sausage or ground pork or ground beef and use some of the fat left in the pot to make your sauce. That would impart some flavor to your pizza sauce.
To the fat, add the tomato puree.
Add all the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover the pot and cook on medium heat for one hour to reduce it down.
You can even make it ahead of time and save in the fridge for the day you would make the pizza. You can add herbs and more seasoning as you want.
This quantity can make pizza for seven people twice.
I prefer to use tomato puree instead of tomato paste as it doesn’t contain citric acid. And it is not expensive.
