I like to purchase my website domain name from Google Domains. Google is a domain registrar where you could purchase a website domain name.

How much does Google domain cost?  $12/year. Google Domains offer other services to help you build your website and google suite to run your business online. But I like to point my domains to Bluehost hosting platform. I like to create a website for my business using WordPress and build it myself. By doing so, I don’t give control to any one these companies over any part my entire website. Google has the domain name. Bluehost is hosting it. Worpress.org is used to create the site and I used a theme to build it. Bluehost offer a builder but the website may not be moved to another platform later. But it would help build the site faster. With Word Press, it takes little longer to build but I could move the website to another hosting platform if I chose to. It is important to remember every company (Google Domains and Bluehost) involved and pay their fees to renew their service every year.

How to purchase a domain name from Google

1. Type google domains in Google search bar
2. Click on https://domains.google/
3. Sign in
4. Click on Get New Domain
5. Type your domain name with .com or with the ending you like
6. Press Enter.
7. Google Domain would give you suggestions and you analyze your choice based on 3 criteria:
   1. Is the domain name too long or not? The shorter the name the better
   1. Is the name easy to remember? If the domain includes uncommon word, Google will point it out.
   1. Is the domain name ending a common one? .com is popular
8. Scroll down to see other google suggestions to see how you could improve or fine tune your search.
9. Once you choose a domain name that is available to purchase, click on cart next to it to add to the cart.
10. Go to the cart to check out.
11. Google domain name cost $12/year.
