We would like to review our existing swing trading stock watchlist, to pick stocks for next year’s stock watchlist. To select these stocks that will be a part of the new year watchlist, we use maximum monthly chart to review these stocks. If the current price is below any previous year’s high, we do not add that stock in the watchlist.
This simple principle allows us to keep stocks that are upward stocks.
We use an up-trend line swing trading strategy and therefore, it is important we pick stocks that are upward stocks.
Maximum monthly chart allows you to see the overall trend of the stock chart.
Later we could use a 1-year daily chart or maximum daily chart to review the price fluctuations during the current year to select stocks that display a clean chart during the year with less wide swing and respect their trend lines. If a stock doesn’t follow its main trend line, we could not swing trade it, using our uptrend line swing trading strategy. Instead of figuring out which strategy will be suitable for a particular stock, we might just focus on selecting stocks that display charts we can trade using our swing trading strategy.
