TSCO and TYL stocks are 2 examples used to demonstrate our swing trading strategy that is focused on selecting large-cap U.S. stocks with long-term uptrend patterns. The process begins by using Charles Schwab’s stock screener to filter for large-cap stocks listed on NYSE or NASDAQ, narrowing the pool to around 337 candidates. From there, further filtering excludes non-corporate entities (e.g., LLCs), and chart analysis is used to identify stocks with consistent upward trends. Monthly charts are analyzed to trace higher lows and highs, indicating long-term growth. Stocks are categorized as “upward” or “growth and dip” based on chart patterns.
Daily charts are then used to identify potential entry points, focusing on support lines and valleys. Traders compare current prices to entry targets and assess whether the stock is nearing a buy zone. Once purchased, exit strategies are based on reaching new highs. We encourage you to start small by buying one share at a time—and aiming for modest net profits (e.g., $1 per trade) after brokerage fees to test strategy compatibility. Every year, you refine your watch list by removing underperforming stocks. Overtime you will grow your account by investing more and reinvesting profits. This approach recommends disciplined, repeatable trading with minimal risk, allowing gradual portfolio growth and the potential for supplemental income alongside a regular job.
