It is easier to meet a demand than to create one. Don’t design a product and expect to find a demand for it later. Rather find a problem that you can sell and come up with a great solution for it. Your product should create value for your target audience or customers. You would have much more success with your new product.
How to Choose your Niche Market?
Look at the group of people you belong to. That is your target niche. You don’t need to assume a need for a social group you know little about.
To help you locate your niches do a little reflection on yourself. It could be early in the morning when you wake up without getting off the bed or in a quiet moment of the day with the least amount of distraction. If possible have a note book to write in or write down as soon as you can. Think about:
The social group you belong to or you have been a part of or that you understand.
The industry you work in or you have worked in or understand. Open your recent resume and browse through your past work experience and current one to help you list the industries.
The professional groups you associate yourself with or have in the past.
Take a look at your physical activities and list down the group of people that follow the same physical routine.
List your hobbies and list the group of people that like the same type of hobbies.
Look at the books you read and find out the type of people that purchase the same type of books.
Look at what you search for online and find out what type of people look for the same type of information.
Create a list of different types of groups you have associated yourself with in the present and the past. These are your possible niches. Within these niches, reflect on the need they face and how you can create them values by offering a great solution to a specific problem.
It is easier to create a product that would create a great value for a niche you are a part of or you have associated yourself with as you understand it better.
