Line 6: Adjustments:
If due to rounding between employer and employee share of social security and Medicare tax you are not balancing, you could add the difference cents here to have the correct tax liability to pay. The adjustment could be positive or negative amount
Line 7: Add your tax liability before adjustments and Line 6 the adjustments together
Line 8: Non-refundable credits
Line 8a: If you claim research activity credit here you need to attach for 8974
Line 8 b: Some businesses and tax-exempt organizations with less than 500 employees are required to pay sick leave and family leave to their staff. There is a non-refundable credit up to the portion of your business part of social security to claim on line 8 if you pay sick leave and family leave. The credit in excess is claimed on line 10 d.
Line 8c: Employee retention credit non-refundable: If your business received small business interruption Loan under Paycheck Protection Program, you cannot claim the employee retention credit on line 8b.
Line 8d: Total all non-refundable credits claimed.
Line 9: Line 7 – Line 8d. If line 9 is $0, you need to enter 0.
All the other lines should be blank if the amount is $0.
